Trauma can be overwhelming, and it’s natural for people to seek ways to cope. However, true healing comes from engaging with the Spirit of God. Being filled with the Spirit provides comfort, peace, and strength that alcohol or drugs can’t offer. It’s about finding refuge and healing in God’s presence.
Integrating spiritual engagement with trauma resolution can lead to profound healing. Engaging with the Spirit of God brings a deeper level of restoration that goes beyond what secular methodologies can achieve alone.
Whether it be depression, anxiety, broken marriages, or whatever it is that needs healing, we've seen God break through time and time again. We were created to be at peace. No one should live a broken life because God’s desire is that we are all set free.
When someone hurts us, especially during our childhood, we are left with a lingering wound in our heart. If that wound isn’t healed, eventually it will start to fester and push us into bad behavior that hurts other people, especially those we are in relationship with. “Hurt people hurt people”.
How are hearts healed? Time can’t do it. Nor is the answer just to “forgive and forget.” We say forgive and forget but it actually isn’t possible to “forget” the deep hurts we’ve gone through! The wound needs to be healed.
We find ourselves reacting in ways that hurt ourselves or other people. You don’t want to, but it’s like you can’t control how you react. Those “bad fruits” are the evidence of a heart wound.
